First I modeled each of the different stones in zbrush (every one of them is different).  I hallowed them out in Maya and made a small insertion port in each one, hidden in the ‘eye’ that exists in every design and printed them on my resin 3D printer.

I post-processed every one until it had a super smooth surface finish.

I filled the hallow void with mineral oil, mica powder, and fine glitter.  Then I used a drop of UV resin to seal the holes.

After that, I dyed the surface of each stone with alcohol inks.  Finally each stone got dusted in mica powders and then sealed.

THEN I made the base.  It was cut from lasercut 1/8th inch birch plywood.  Assembled, sanded, and wood filler was used to fill in any construction seams.

Then the entire thing was covered in a rough stone textured spray paint.

The base has an opening from the bottom where LED lights are installed and a battery pack can be found.
